Do I need self defense insurance? Let’s explore the reality of having it versus not.

Gun sales are up by 30% when compared to 2019. But the big question is, do all these people have adequate legal coverage should they ever have to use their gun in self defense?

In my professional experience, people by the thousands take all the necessary steps to equip themselves with the tools needed to defend themselves and loved ones; however, only a few percent of them get themselves the legal protection they will need should they ever have to use their gun.

In 2021, 38.9 million firearms background checks were processed for gun sales. That’s a 30% increase over 2019. That is the second-highest number on record beaten only by the year prior, 2020.

It is clear that people want to be prepared should things start to go south, and I applaud them. They are exercising their right to obtain and use the tools necessary to defend themselves in the case of a home invasion or an attack outside the home. The latter would obviously require a concealed carry permit

The sad reality is they don’t have the slightest idea about their state’s laws or self defense law. Combine that with inexperience, the risk of making a mistake is extremely high.

“Be responsible enough to not put your family in jeopardy because you took steps to prevent them from being in jeopardy.”

With their experience level this low, it’s no surprise they haven’t thought through how they would pay for a legal defense should they ever have to defend themselves. What’s worse, they haven’t got the slightest clue how much that would even cost. For the record, the cost is upwards towards the $350k to $600k mark. And, that is just for the criminal trial. There will always be a civil trial that follows, and make no mistake, they usually win. You are looking at upwards towards $1 million awarded to the family of the thug that tried to kill you. Yep, let that sink in.

Do I need self defense insurance?
Where’s all that money going to come from? Your life savings? Your assets?

Please do not make this mistake. If you have firearms for self defense – or worse – you carry concealed on a regular basis, you absolutely must get some sort of coverage to cover your legal expenses should you ever need to use your firearm. If not, you may have just saved your life by using your gun, but you also have pretty much ended it financially by using it just the same.

Please do not make this mistake. Be responsible enough to not put your family in jeopardy because you took steps to prevent them from being in jeopardy. You insure your cars, your house, your life, your boat, etc. Why then would you be so foolish to have a gun and not carry the coverage you’ll need in case you have to use it?

Why Not USCCA?

I used to be a USCCA member for my legal protection, but have switched to CCW Safe. I am in my fifth year with them. CCW Safe is far superior to the USCCA because there are no caps to your coverage. There are no concerns of whether or not CCW Safe will cover you either. Much unlike USCCA where they have been known to leave you high and dry. The USCCA has been known not to cover you because they may not like the optics of the case. Never with CCW Safe. They cover you regardless and they’ll cover you again if you have to appeal.

These guys are the real deal. So, when the question, do I need self defense insurance comes up, the answer is a resounding yes. Get yourself the coverage you need and stop playing Russian Roulette with your life.

CCW Safe Self Defense Legal Protection

With self defense comes enormous liability. Can you afford the half million you’ll need to defend yourself in court? How about the civil suit that will follow?
Don’t be foolish in thinking you can afford to defend yourself. Get the legal protection you need before you need it.
