Crossbreed Reckoning Holster Belt Clips

Crossbreed Reckoning Holster Belt Clips

Back in 2019, Crossbreed debuted their new Reckoning Holster. As soon as I saw the announcement, I could not wait to get my hands on one. I have always liked the idea of two belt clips on a holster versus the typical single belt clip seen on most AIWB holsters. As an AIWB guy, I always had holster envy of the options available with the three and five o’clock holsters out there. Two belt clips, one on either side of the pistol, solid holster retention with minimal shifting. For the appendix carrier, however, it just has not been as glamorous… until now.

I have been using Crossbreed’s Reckoning holster now for a few months. I use it with a Sig Sauer P320 Compact. It is fantastic. Once you put it on, it stays put. It sits close to the body for ease of concealment and it distributes the weight of a compact, double stack pistol wonderfully. But, what about the belt clips? With the Reckoning Holster, you have a few options. First of all, it comes with the standard and visually appealing steel belt clips that showcase the Crossbreed cross. They also throw in a set of outside the waistband clips; a nice touch. In addition to that, they also give you the option to order a nice pair of polymer clips to use in place of the steel ones it comes with. But why would you need or want the polymer ones when you get the nice steel ones free?

The steel ones work great with leather gun belts. They don’t, however, work so well with nylon tactical belts. I used a Crossbreed Mini Appendix Carry AIWB Holster for years with my Glock 43. Another excellent holster. I could draw all day long with a leather gun belt; that holster wasn’t going anywhere. With a nylon tactical belt (I use 5.11 tactical belts), the holster would consistently come out of the waistband right along with the gun. Not good. Because of this, the Mini Appendix Carry AIWB Holster was my leather belt holster and an AlienGear ShapeShift AIWB holster was my nylon tactical belt holster. It worked great because I love both brands. This next time around when I went with the Reckoning Holster, I changed out the belt clips. Complete holster nirvana. It works flawlessly with any belt I choose.

I guess that was a long drawn out way to explain the benefits of switching out the clips if you go with the Reckoning Holster. That was my original intent with this blog post anyway. I am delighted with this holster and highly recommend it.
